Sleep Training 10 Month Old

Don't let this sweet face fool you. He is the worlds worst sleeper! Elliott spent his first 10 days of life in the NICU. In the NICU they make you wake the baby up every 3 hours for feedings. This is NOT something I would have done if he were home with me and I like to blame those first 10 days for his bad sleep habits. It's much more logical than blaming myself right?

So here's the deal. Elliott is a great self soother and has always been on a sleep schedule. He does go to bed a tad early at 7pm but that's only because we can't keep him up past that. Our routine:

5:20 pick up from daycare
6:00 dinner
6:30 bath
7:00 book & bed

I give him a bottle somewhere during that time. Sometimes it's right before bed but not always. I have read that mom's shouldn't nurse or give a bottle right before bed so I tend to mix it up. Elliott was breastfed exclusively for 6 months and now he has formula and lots of solids. He goes to sleep like a champ on his own and in his own bed. Then he wakes up 3 hours later and wants a bottle then again 3-4 hours later. We've tried the controled cry method and it works it really does but it doesnt last long a couple of days at most. Then some nights he surprises me and sleeps through but mostly he's still up every 3-4 hours.

I really didn't think I would still be going through this at 10 months old. What do you mommies do? At this point I figure he will grow out of it eventually but I also think we could both use the sleep! Plus I like the idea of Elliott learning how to self sooth in the middle of the night. Tips! Please and thank you!
